Thermal Layers

I always love experimenting with my style. I love wearing things that I wouldn't normally wear or things that I would never think of wearing. They usually turn out to be my favorite outfits. I'm normally not the one to layer. Living in Texas, even the winters don't call for much layering, so it's a little foreign to me. For some reason, I decided that layering a simple thermal over my favorite denim shirt would make for a great outfit.

I really love the way it turned out even if it was a little out of the norm for me. I'm learning that it's always good to step out of your comfort zone in fashion and in life.

Mix it Up

My style really can't be defined. My style reflects my mood and how I'm  feeling that particular day. So it's constantly changing and I like that. One thing that I can say about my style is that I love mixing and matching pieces in my wardrobe. I love the challenge of putting together a look from things that I never would have thought would go together. That's where this look comes from.

I wore this dress here and I mixed it up a little here and today I'm taking this dress a little further. I'm still wearing a dress as a skirt but I added boots and my favorite winter headband. I love the way it turned out and it seemed perfect for these warm winter days.

Crazy Weather

The weather changes so much in Texas, that it's hard to know exactly how to dress. One day it's cold, the next day it's sunny and warm. Well, today was one of the cold days and I was in a rut. I didn't quite know what to wear. For cold days like this, my uniform I pretty consistent. I like to keep a mix of casual with elements of more dressy pieces. I love pairing a casual t-shirt with black pants and my favorite coat. If it was really cold I would add boots, but sneakers seemed to work just fine for this crazy Texas weather.

I've been experimenting more and more with my style lately. I think starting a blog has helped me sort of move away from my comfort zone. I love that I'm becoming more fearless with my style and I'm not afraid of wearing whatever I want. Not that this outfit is anything crazy or out of the ordinary, but I feel like it's different than anything I would have worn in the past. Like I've said before, it's good to step out of your comfort zone every once in awhile.

Back to Black

Well, today was one of the cold days. This weather has been so up and down lately, so it's hard to know what exactly to wear in those situations. Since I was going to be out most of the day, I decided on an all black look. To me, it's the chicest way to brave the elements. I experimented with an all black look during the summer and I thought I'd try my hand at it again. When wearing all black, I've learned that it's important to mix textures. I love the combo of a knit sweater, pants, leg warmers, and leather boots. It's the perfect mix of textures and perfect for a chilly day.

First Timer

I know this may be a little hard to believe but I've never own or worn a pair of leggings. I've seen other people wear them and have heard of their comfort, but I never thought they would look good on me. That is until I tried them. They are seriously the perfect thing to throw on when you're not quite sure what to wear and they are indeed the most comfortable thing I've ever put on my body. I don't know how, but they just seem to work. So now that I've tried them, they're going to be a staple in my closet. Expect to see more legging looks in the future.

I also have to mention my favorite denim shirt. This thing literally goes with everything and I get so much wear out of it. I love how it goes from season to season with ease.
